KUCHING, Aug 18: The Malaysian Meteorological Department (MetMalaysia) has issued a thunderstorm warning for parts of Sarawak until noon today.
Anticipated weather conditions include thunderstorms, heavy rain, and strong winds affecting Kuching, Serian, and Samarahan (Samarahan and Asajaya). The warning, which was issued at 9am today, will remain in effect until 12pm.

“A warning is issued when there are signs of a thunderstorm with a rain intensity greater than 20 mm/hour that is approaching or expected to last for more than an hour. A thunderstorm warning is a short-term warning that is valid for a maximum of six hours per issuance,” it highlighted. — DayakDaily
