The items include Mackerel fish (including mambung and selayang fish), imported beef, imported round cabbage (Indonesia and China, excluding Beijing), green mustard, cucumber, tomato, red chilli, long beans, red raddish, large yellow onion, large imported red onion, small Indian red onion, garlic (China), imported sweet potatoes (China), imported ginger, peanuts, dried chili, coconut, grated coconut and santan.

The SHMMP Hari Raya Puasa 2025 will be enforced through the Price Control and Anti-Profiteering Act (AKHAP) 2011, at the wholesale and retail levels, and the gazetted prices can be checked on the ministry’s website at www.kpdn.gov.my.

“KPDN Sarawak has deployed 188 enforcement officers and 92 price monitoring officers to strategic locations throughout the State to monitor the availability of supplies and compliance, as well as conduct inspections at public markets, farmers’ markets, and shopping centres.

“Inspections will also be conducted to monitor non-compliance or investigate consumer complaints so that any non-compliance by traders can be addressed according to the established legal provisions,” Matthew said in a statement following a walkabout at a supermarket in Samariang with Deputy Minister of the Sarawak Premier’s Department and Samariang assemblywoman Datuk Sharifah Hasidah Sayeed Aman Ghazali today.

The walkabout was conducted to monitor compliance with the implementation of the Hari Raya 2025 SHMMP.

He stated that KPDN Sarawak will enhance the omnipresence of enforcement officers and price monitoring officers at locations frequented by consumers to create a safe and ethical business and shopping environment.

As of March 24, 2025, KPDN Sarawak Enforcement Officers have conducted inspections on 40,337 premises, resulting in 499 cases with a seizure value of RM3.382 million, while the total compound value reached RM83,000.

Strict action will be taken against traders failing to comply with the regulations under this scheme, with fines up to RM100,000 or imprisonment up to three years for individuals, or both. Companies could face fines up to RM500,000. – DayakDaily
