KUCHING, Jan 12: Petroliam Nasional Berhad (PETRONAS), Malaysia’s prominent oil and gas company, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year with a series of meaningful and memorable activities.
PETRONAS head of Media Communications Jalina Joheng announced that the company is actively putting together plans to commemorate five decades of Petronas’ journey.
“We want to give back to the community in meaningful ways as appreciation for the support received from Malaysians, including the media throughout the years,” she said in a brief address at PETRONAS-Kuching Media networking dinner at a hotel here tonight.
Jalina, who is from Sarawak and a former journalist, recently assumed the role following the retirement of Azman Ibrahim.
She expressed gratitude to the Sarawak media for their continuous support in communicating news and stories to PETRONAS’ various stakeholders, both in Sarawak, across Malaysia and beyond.
Acknowledging the pivotal role of the media in supporting PETRONAS’ efforts, she highlighted their contributions in addressing the masses, communicating with its stakeholders, enhancing the company’s reputation, and guiding the growth and progress of the PETRONAS brand over the years.
“What’s more important is that the coverage was mostly fair, positive and highly informative,” she said.
With that, Jalina hopes the Sarawak media will continue to extend their support and fostering a collaborative relationship with PETRONAS.
“Again, I want to express our gratitude to all the press members, both past and present, for being with PETRONAS journey for the past five decades. Your support and contribution has been invaluable to us,” she added.
Concluding her address, Jalina extended early wishes for a happy Chinese New Year, further emphasising the company’s commitment to building strong and positive relationships with the media and the community at large. — DayakDaily
