KUCHING, May 24: Hair saloons and barbershops are allowed to operate to offer basic barber service only from tomorrow until June 7, 2021.

This means only hair cutting is allowed, while other more luxurious services such as colouring, styling or treatments are forbidden to be offered to patrons.

This is the latest standard operating procedure (SOP) announced by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) following extended Conditional Movement Control Order to June 7, 2021.

Meanwhile, supermarkets, hypermarkets, shopping malls, retail stores, hardware stores, convenience stores, launderettes and other businesses are allowed to operate.

Premises owners and operators however are required to control the number of visitors in the premises at one time as stated in the standard operating procedure (SOP) to ensure that physical distancing is kept during business hours.

Same as prior CMCO period, restaurants, eateries, bistros, cafés, food and beverage stalls are allowed to operate to offer takeaway, drive through and delivery while dine-ins are strictly prohibited.

Park and dine is also not allowed.

Markets, wholesale markets, farmers’ market and night market, whether uptown or downtown may be opened with the supervision of the authorities and members of Rela or officers of local authorities.
