Habitual offender jailed one year on top of 10 months’ jail for earlier crime

KUCHING, Dec 24: A jobless man was sentenced to imprisonment for a year for retaining a stolen motorcycle.

Muhamad Syamrinuddin Dollah pleaded guilty to the charge at the Kuching Magistrates Court here today.


He was charged with retaining a stolen motorcycle at a house in Taman Mesra Bako, at about 10.35am on November 12, 2019.

He was charged under Section 411 of the Penal Code, which carries an imprisonment term of between six months and five years, and liable to fine upon conviction.

Magistrate Nuruhuda Mohd Yusof sentenced the accused to one-year imprisonment.

She also ordered the imprisonment term to run consecutively with the accused’s sentence for retaining stolen car rims. He was sentenced to imprisonment of ten months and a fine of RM2,000. — DayakDaily
