KUCHING, March 11: A man with three previous convictions of drugs usage was sentenced to a jail term of five years and two strokes of the cane for consuming dangerous drugs for the fourth time.
Anderson Sedak, 28, pleaded guilty to the charge framed under Section 39C(1)(b) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952.
Sessions Court Judge Marutin Pagan convicted him as charged and sentenced him to five years imprisonment and two whippings.
Judge Marutin also ordered the accused to be placed under police supervision for three years upon release and to report to the nearest police station on the first week for three consecutive months.
The accused was found to have consumed Amphetamine and Methamphetamine at the Narcotic Crime Investigation Department of IPD Bau, at about 6.34 am on February 28, 2020.
He also had three previous convictions of dangerous drugs consumption in 2019.
