KUCHING, Oct 29: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) Youth Machinery will march into the 15th General Election (GE15) smoothly, unlike motorcycles which ‘cough’.

The coalition’s chairman Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg, has likened the newly launched election machinery to hydrogen-powered machinery, which is smoother in its operations.

“This machinery will not ‘cough’ like motorcycles. Instead, our engine is smooth, and the ride will also be smooth sailing.

“This is all to protect Malaysia,” he said when officiating at the launching of the GPS Youth Machinery at the Indoor Stadium in Petra Jaya today.

Abang Johari, who is also the Premier of Sarawak, further stressed that the Sarawakian youth today will be the State’s guardians in the future.

“As long as GPS is here, looking at all your faces (youth), the future of Sarawak will be bright.

“This is because we have a policy that will last until 2030. By then, I will be old, so all of you will be the successors to continue developing Malaysia with Sarawak at its heart (centre),” he added.

GPS comprises of Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB), Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP), Parti Rakyat Sarawak (PRS), and Progressive Democratic Party (PDP).

Amongst those present were Deputy Premier Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas, Sarawak PBB permanent chairman Tan Sri Mohamad Asfia Awang Nassar, most senior GPS leaders as well as parties’ youth chiefs Miro Simuh (PBB), Michael Tiang (SUPP), Datuk Snowdan Lawan (PRS), and David Yeo (PDP). ā€” DayakDaily
