GPS’ Tiong wins Dudong from PSB with 5,806 majority

KUCHING, Dec 18: Bintulu MP Dato Sri Tiong King Sing has pulled 9,390 votes from N52 Dudong voters in an eight-cornered fight, winning the seat from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).

Against Tiong’s 9,390 votes, PSB’s Wong Hie Ping lost with 3,584 votes while Democratic Action Party’s (DAP) Paul Ling Fong came in third with 2,724 votes.


The other five, including independent Engga Unchat who had pulled out from the contest just last night, all lost their deposits.

Jane Lau Sing Yee from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) garnered 1,779 votes, independent Cardock with 1,178 votes, Julius Enchana Jaspher Ancho from Parti Bansa Dayak Sarawak Baru (PBDSB) with 893 votes, Engga with 225 votes, and Josephine Lau from Sarawak People’s Aspiration Party (Aspirasi) with 212 votes.

In the 2016 State election, the seat was won by Tiong Thai King under the Barisan Nasional (BN) ticket who later joined PSB. — DayakDaily
