MIRI, Nov 13: Senator Alan Ling commends Telang Usan assemblyman Dennis Ngau for his efforts in providing assistance to nearly 200 rural residents under his constituency to take part in a PeKa B40 programme last Sunday, even though it (PeKa B40) was mooted by the Pakatan Harapan (PH) government.

“Well done, and I hope more GPS (Gabungan Parti Sarawak) ‘wakil rakyat’ after this, could come forward and emulate his (Dennis) action in future,” Ling said when met on Tuesday night after attending a Christmas tree-lighting ceremony at a hotel here.

Ling was answering a question on Dennis’s effort to assist Telang Usan folk to participate in the PeKa B40 programme recently.

Ling highlighted that PeKa B40 is an initiative mooted by the federal government to benefit those from the lower income group (B40).

“All policies set by the federal government are aimed to benefit people at the grassroots level, and I laud what Dennis has done to help Telang Usan residents,” he added.

Ling who is also Sarawak PH secretary added the federal government will do whatever it can to meet any request to help facilitate PeKa B40 programmes at the grassroots level.

“We are a transparent government. Even if you are not from PH, we will accomodate your requests (for PeKa B40),” he said.
