KUCHING, Nov 7: Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) P196 Stampin candidate Lo Khere Chiang will bring the Federal government to task on the accident-prone Mile 15 roundabout if elected into Parliament.

According to a news report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, Lo said he would also use the platform to be the voice of Sarawakians at the Federal level if given the mandate to represent the area as a Member of Parliament.

“I will highlight this issue to the Parliament, including voicing out for Sarawak government agencies such as the Sarawak Public Works Department (JKR), Sarawak Irrigation and Drainage Department (DID), and Sarawak Rural Water Supply Department (JBALB) to hold greater authority in relation to project implementation here.

“At the Federal level, they only need to allocate funds for the agencies to implement related projects,” said Lo during an engagement session streamed via Facebook Live on Sunday (Nov 6).

Lo, who is also Padawan Municipal Council (MPP) chairman, pointed out that GPS’ victory for Stampin’s seat in the 15th General Election (GE15) will allow more funds to be allocated to develop the area further.

“As an assemblyman, I have served Batu Kitang well. Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian has given his best to the people of Batu Kawah, and with the recent victory of Yap Yau Sin in Kota Sentosa, I believe many new developments will be brought to the area within five years.

“If GPS captures Stampin, we can provide better quality services because we will get additional allocations from the Federal government,” he added. — DayakDaily
