MIRI, Mar 2: Gabungan Parti Sarawak’s (GPS) support’s for new Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin does not mean GPS is a member of Perikatan Nasional.

This is the view of Marudi Assemblyman Datu Penguang Manggil who asserted that supporting Muhyiddin cannot be equated to GPS joining the new ruling alliance.

“We support who we are comfortable with and who can help us.  It does not mean that we join Perikatan Nasional,” reiterated Penguang while met at the Earth Breaking Ceremony of Highland Development Agency opened by Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas at Long Bedian today.

Penguang was responding to a question on the week-long political crisis unfolding in Kuala Lumpur.

The political turmoil ended following the appointment of Muhyiddin as the new prime minister by the King on Saturday.  Muhyiddin was sworn in as the 8th Prime Minister on Sunday. — DayakDaily
