KUCHING, June 1: All government service counters will be closed during the Movement Control Order (MCO) period until June 14.
According to updated Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) released by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), all such business will be conducted online.
SDMC said civil servants are to work from home, excluding frontliners such as security, defence and enforcement personnel.
Civil servants are only allowed to go to office for work processes that cannot be carried out at home, with the capacity not exceeding 20 per cent of the workforce.
The work processes include contract, invoice or salary payment, maintenance work, online system maintenance and preparation of working papers for Ministers or Sarawak Cabinet.
Civil servants who are working in the office are required to adopt the work rotation system of a maximum of four hours and provide official documents or working pass.
Apart from that, meetings, briefings and official government functions are allowed upon approval from SDMC with adherence to SOPs such as not exceeding 50 per cent of the capacity limit of the premises or a maximum of 50 attendees.
For the private sector, the capacity of administration and operation employees is limited to 30 per cent of the total workforce. — DayakDaily
