Kindergartens, childcare centres, homes for disabled and elderly care centres allowed to open during MCO

KUCHING, June 1: Kindergartens, childcare centres, homes for the disabled and elderly care centres are allowed to open during the Movement Control Order (MCO) from May 29 to June 14 subject to approval from the Ministry of Welfare, Community Wellbeing, Women, Family and Childhood Development.

According to updated Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) released by Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), parents or guardians sending their children to kindergartens or childcare centres have to go by the capacity of their car and also check-in using the MySejahtera app.


Individuals who are close contacts to Covid-19 cases, Persons-Under-Surveillance (PUS) and Patients-Under Investigation (PUI) are not allowed to enter these premises.

Those who are experiencing fever, cough, flu or diarrhea are also not allowed to be at the premises. — DayakDaily
