Gerawat in four-cornered fight for Mulu

MIRI, Dec 6: Gabungan Parti Sarawak-Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (GPS-PBB) candidate and incumbent for Mulu, Dato Gerawat Gala will face a four-cornered fight in the 12th Sarawak Election.

Gerawat, 64, will face Prof Dr Son Radu, 65, from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB), Roland Engan, 49, from Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) and Dr Richard Ibuh, 67, from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK).


In the 11th Sarawak Election in 2016, Gerawat won the seat after defeating PKR’s Pauls Baya, Democratic Action Party’s Paul Anyie Raja and Roland Dom Mattu (independent) with a vote-majority of 1,708.

Gerawat garnered a total of 3, 198 votes to secure the seat, followed by Pauls (1,490); Paul (309 votes), and Roland (239 votes). — DayakDaily
