KUCHING, Dec 6: N23 Bukit Semuja incumbent John Ilus of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS) will be defending his seats against three challengers.

The three are Brolin Nicholson from Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak, Edward Andrew Luwak from Parti Bumi Kenyalang (PBK) and Elsie Tinggang from Parti Sarawak Bersatu (PSB).

John, when contacted, said he will go all out for GPS as he did in the last Sarawak Election.

“I believe that we will continue to have the support from the people because we are a coalition that brings development to our areas – that is the only agenda we have.

“The people have witnessed that and that is why I believe they will continue to give us their support.

“I call on them not to be swayed by the sweet talk of the Opposition who can only talk but can never deliver,” said John.

John made his debut in the last Sarawak Election and fought well in a five-cornered fight.

He won the seat by a majority of 3,144 votes by garnering 5,451 votes against Edward’s 2,307, Frederick Bayo Maggie’s 1,196, Johnny Aput’s 53 and the late Cabbold Lusoi’s 133 votes. — DayakDaily
