GE15: Amanah to contest in 6 Sarawak seats

KUCHING, Oct 31: Parti Amanah Negara (Amanah) Sarawak will contest in six parliamentary seats in the 15th General Election (GE15).

Its chairman Abang Abdul Halil Abang Naili told DayakDaily today that he will be contesting in P197 Kota Samarahan seat whose incumbent is Datuk Rubiah Wang of Gabungan Parti Sarawak (GPS).


Amanah Sarawak’s five other candidates are Wel@Maxwell Rojis for P201 Batang Lupar, Zainab Suhaili for P206 Tanjong Manis, Mohamad Zen Peli for P193 Santubong, Hud Andri Zulkarnaen for P207 Igan, and Lahaji Lahiya for P200 Batang Sadong.

Amanah Sarawak will contest using the Pakatan Harapan (PH) logo.

PH Sarawak comprises Amanah Sarawak, Parti Keadilan Rakyat (PKR) Sarawak and Democratic Action Party (DAP) Sarawak.

In earlier reports, DAP Sarawak announced that it will contest in eight seats namely P196 Stampin with incumbent Chong Chieng Jen, followed by P195 Bandar Kuching (incumbent Dr Kelvin Yii Lee Wuen), P192 Mas Gading (incumbent Mordi Bimol), P199 Serian (Laerry Jabul), P212 Sibu (incumbent Oscar Ling), P211 Lanang (incumbent Alice Lau), P217 Bintulu (Tony Chiew) and P208 Sarikei (Roderick Wong).

Meanwhile, PKR Sarawak is expected to reveal its full candidate list tomorrow.

The party only won one seat in GE14 which is P219 Miri, of which the incumbent is Dr Michael Teo. — DayakDaily
