KUCHING, Aug 27: Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) president Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg has refused to reveal the names of the party’s incumbents who will not defend their seats in the 15th General Election (GE15).

“Kelak madah. Sik tauk bah bila election. (I will tell later. We don’t know yet when is the election),” he told reporters after handing over house keys, land titles, and compensation grants to Darul Hana house owners and officiating Surau Blok 1A of Darul Hana held at the site today.

Abang Johari, also Sarawak Premier and Gedong assemblyman, was adamant in not spilling the tea despite a reporter’s attempt to get him to hint whether the said MP is male or female.

“Tunggu dolok. Bedok blom ada berbunyi. (Wait first. The drum has not been played),” he added.

This signalled his persistence to remain tight-lipped on the names pending the announcement of when GE15 will be called.

He also mentioned that the good thing about the leaders in the party is that whenever they feel that they have done enough, they will voluntarily step down and give way to the younger ones.

“We do not replace the incumbents by force,” he said.

On Aug 6, Abang Johari, after chairing a PBB Supreme Council meeting at PBB headquarters, said that several MPs had expressed their intention not to defend their seats in GE15. — DayakDaily
