KUCHING, May 27: Starting May 30 to June 4, the Sarawak Police Contingent, particularly the Traffic Enforcement and Investigation Department, will carry out a six-day operation called ‘Op Lancar’ in conjunction with Gawai Dayak.
In a media release, Sarawak Police Commissioner Dato Mancha Ata stated that the operation is focused on ensuring smooth traffic flow during peak hours, cracking down on traffic violations, and reinforcing law enforcement efforts.
“This operation will be carried out Statewide and will involve around 350 police personnel and focus on locations prone to accidents,” he said.
He also advised the public to comply with traffic regulations and follow instructions issued by enforcement officers.
“Strict action will be taken on anyone who violates the law. Always prioritise safety,” he said.
He also urged everyone to work together with the police, as well as to inform them should they be leaving their homes this festive season. — DayakDaily
