KUCHING, Jan 11: The prices of RON95, RON97, and diesel will remain unchanged for the next week until Jan 18.
The Ministry of Finance (MOF) said RON95 and diesel prices continue to be capped at RM2.05 and RM2.15 per litre, respectively, while RON97 maintains at RM3.35 per litre.
“To protect consumers from the effects of the increase in the real price of oil on the global market, the government continues to cap the retail price of RON95 petrol at RM2.05 per litre and diesel at RM2.15 per litre, despite the fact that the actual market price of both products has surpassed the ceiling price.
“However, the retail price of RON97 petrol is maintained in accordance with market price movements,” it said in a statement today.
Meanwhile, the ministry also assured that the government would continue to monitor global crude oil price trends and take appropriate measures to ensure the welfare and well-being of the people. — DayakDaily
