KUCHING, Sept 11: All are welcome to join in square dancing at the Batu Kawah Riverbank Park every Monday, Wednesday and Friday night.

Deputy Premier Dato Sri Dr Sim Kui Hian said members of the public irrespective of race and religion have been coming together to dance.

ā€œIf you feel that you need to get out, I strongly encourage you to come and have exercise.

ā€œItā€™s free, and you just need to join in. Nobody is going to reject you, no matter whether your dance is good or bad,ā€ he said in a social media post today.

In November last year, Sarawak Premier Datuk Patinggi Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg officiated at the launch of Phase 1 and 2 of Batu Kawah Riverbank Park which features an eight-storey high ā€˜sky windowā€™ landmark.

Phase 3 of the project will see the construction of sports facilities for youths and car parks underneath the Batu Kawah bridge while Phase 4 consists of children’s playground facilities, which have yet to be launched.

The last phase, Phase 5, involves riverbank protection measures at Kampung Rantau Panjang which started around June this year following the appointment of a new project contractor. ā€” DayakDaily
