It aims to raise awareness of NPC which is also known as nasopharyngeal cancer, promote early detection, and provide free health screenings to the community.

“Members of the public are encouraged to participate, as early detection plays a crucial role in improving treatment outcomes for NPC and other health conditions.

“The programme will include free health screenings, with assessments for NPC and general health checks to facilitate early detection and intervention.

“A panel discussion featuring an ENT specialist, an oncologist, and an NPC survivor will provide invaluable insights on NPC symptoms, treatment options, and patient experiences.

“In addition, an oral cancer awareness exhibition will highlight risk factors, early warning signs, and prevention strategies through interactive displays and educational materials,” said the press release.

It added that NPC is among the most common cancers in Sarawak and encouraged the public to take advantage of the opportunity to undergo health screenings.
