Free entry for public to watch Sukma events in Sibu

SIBU, Aug 13: Entry to venues for the 21st Malaysia Games (Sukma) here are free of charge.

Sarawak Sports Corporation (SSC) Central Region officer Mikar Changgan said the public should not be influenced by rumours that every venue charges for entry.

“Badminton sports events at the Sibu Indoor Stadium, volleyball at the Taman Rejang Volleyball Stadium, football at two venues namely the Tun Zaidi Stadium and the Hashim Community Sports Centre (Azman Hashim Stadium, Sibu Jaya) are all free and no entry fee is charged.

“Therefore, I hope people are not confused by the previous issues that said every venue need tickets.

“Entry to all the sports event venues is free,” he said at a press conference here today.

Following that, Mikar welcomed the public in Sibu to come to the venues to support the players.

He said, the badminton event will be held from Aug 17 to 24 while the volleyball from Aug 17 to 23.

“For the football event, the public can come for the second match tomorrow at the Tun Zaidi Stadium between Johor and Sabah at 4pm.

“And at Azman Hashim Stadium, between Negeri Sembilan and Kelantan, also at 4pm.” he said.

According to him, the public can enter the stadium as early as 2pm.

Asked about match schedule information, Mikar said the public can download the Sukma application on their smartphones or refer to the Sibu Sukma Media Centre located at the Sibu Indoor Stadium. — DayakDaily
