KUCHING, Oct 20: A free anti-rabies vaccination, dog licensing, and microchipping programme as well as a subsidised dog neutering drive will be held at the Sarawak Basketball Association, Taman Seng Goon, here this Saturday (Oct 24).
In a Facebook post, the Kuching South City Council (MBKS) said that the programme will start from 8.30am to 4.30pm.
To be eligible for the free anti-rabies vaccination, dog licensing, and microchipping services, pet dogs must be above the age of three months, healthy, and not pregnant.
A RM150 subsidy for dog neutering is available, subject to the following eligibility requirements: the dog must be above six months old, licensed under MBKS, and vaccinated.
“Subsidy is limited to the first 100 eligible dogs only,” said MBKS, stressing that the RM150 is a subsidy towards neutering costs and is not a free neutering service.
Dog owners have been instructed to being their IC and, if available, their dog’s vaccination card.
“Responsible pet ownership begins with vaccination, proper licensing and care for our furry companions.
“We encourage all eligible dog owners to participate and make full use of this opportunity.” — DayakDaily
