Four ‘missing’ anglers safely returned to Kpg Geobilt

The four missing anglers have safely returned to Kampung Geobilt.

KUCHING, Sept 9:  The residents of Kampung Geobilt have heaved a sign of relief after four missing anglers from their village safely returned home this morning.

Sarawak Maritime Director First Maritime Admiral Robert Teh Geok Chuan confirmed that the four who were reported missing in a fishing trip yesterday had been safely escorted to Kampung Bako jetty at about 10.30am this morning.

“They are all safe.  When they were met nearby Pulau Lakei, they were fishing and there was no emergency or problem with the engine of their boat,” said Teh.


The Search and Rescue Operation ended at 10.30am this morning with all the victims safely returning to their families.

The Malaysian Maritime Team thanked all involved in the search including personnel from the Maritime Police, the Civil Defence, the Fire and Rescue Department as well the villagers who had come out in search of the four anglers. — DayakDaily
