Four longhouses in Bukit Begunan constituency receive MRP grants of RM52,000

KUCHING, Oct 30: Four longhouses in Bukit Begunan constituency have received Minor Rural Project (MRP) grants worth a total of RM52,000.

According to a report from Sarawak Public Communication Unit (Ukas) today, the grants were presented by Bukit Begunan assemblyman Datuk Mong Dagang, during a simple handing over ceremony held on Friday (Oct 29).

Among the villages that received the grants were Women’s Bureau of Rh. James Batang (RM8,000), Village Development and Security Committee (JKKK) of Rh. John Katong in Bakong Hilir (RM10,000), JKKK Rh. Noni in Bakong Tengah (RM10,000), and JKKK Rh. Win in Tawang (RM30,000).


During the ceremony, Mong also announced the Rural Transformation Project (RTP) allocation of RM100,000 for the purpose of repairing Rh. James Batang longhouse.

Meanwhile, Tuai Rumah James Batang conveyed his gratitude to the Bukit Begunan assemblyman for various developments that had been brought to the constituency since he became the representative in 2006.

“The people are also grateful to Datuk Mong’s help in setting up of the Corporation for Tanjung Bijat to support the paddy planting process,” he added. — DayakDaily.
