FOUND: Body of second teen swept away by strong current recovered from Sg Meluan

KUCHING, Oct 2: The body of 16-year-old Ferdinand Raymond Jiram was found after he was reported to have been swept away by a strong current in Sungai Meluan yesterday.

According to a report from Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the deceased’s body was found by villagers at 8.30pm yesterday (Oct 1), about 50 metres from where he was last seen.

Following that, his remains were handed over to the police before being transported to Sarikei Hospital for further action, bringing the search the rescue (SAR) operation to an end.


Earlier, 15-year-old Abdul Rezan Abdul Jalil’s body was found at 5.45pm after he was swept away by the river current while trying to swim across Sungai Meluan near Brooke Fort, which prompted the deceased (Ferdinand) to jumped into the river to rescue his friend. — DayakDaily
