KUCHING, June 12: Former Football Association Sarawak (FAS) secretary-general Abdullah Julaihi has denied the allegation of any financial scandals during his term.

Referring to the recent statement by FAS president Datuk Posa Majais which was published in a local daily, Abdullah said the records of payment made to FAS in 2015-2016 as alleged is irresponsible and malicious.

Posa had demanded an explanation for the RM91 million allegedly missing from the association’s coffer. He also claimed that he has records and solid evidence relating to the
‘abuse’ of FAS by certain state leaders and others.

“I therefore make this response as the General Secretary on behalf of the exco during the period mentioned. Being part of the former management of FAS, I wish to state that whatever payments in and out of FAS are all properly recorded. The FAS account is properly audited and tabled at every exco meeting as well as at the Annual General Meeting. Therefore such allegation is totally baseless,” Abdullah said in a statement today.

If there is any concern over issues or clarification needed from the former management, Abdullah said that Posa could have easily sought their explanation instead of turning to the press.

Posa also threaten that he will report the scandal to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC). — DayakDaily
