KUCHING, Aug 2: After several days of battling forest and peat fires in Mukah, Miri, and Dalat, the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), with the support of other agencies, successfully extinguished all blazes today through sustained and coordinated efforts.
According to reports from Bomba, the fire near Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) Mukah, which occurred on July 25, was declared extinguished at 2pm today after nine days, affecting 75.32 hectares.
Meanwhile, in Miri, a peat fire near North City, Kuala Baram, which was detected on July 30, was extinguished at 11am this morning after four days, affecting 16.19 hectares.
As for the fire in Dalat, it occurred near SK Ulu Bauh and was first reported on July 31, with the three-day operation officially concluded at 11am today, involving 1.5 hectares of land. — DayakDaily
