MIRI, May 25: A foreign student of a private higher learning institution here fell to his death from a 15th floor apartment building in Tanjong Lobang early this morning (Monday).
Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah said the 19-year-old male student from Egypt died on the spot believed to be due to serious injuries sustained from the fall.
He added police were informed of the incident at around 2 am by the security guard of the apartment.
“A team of police was deployed to the scene after receiving the alert. The body has been taken to Miri hospital for a post mortem.
“At the moment, the case is being classified as sudden death,” Lim said.
Prior to the incident, Lim said the deceased together with 12 other friends were believed to have rented one of the units at the 15th floor for a get-to-together party.-DayakDaily
