MUKAH, Dec 16: The Mukah police are seeking public assistance in locating a man believed to be involved in a fatal fight at a workers’ quarters in an oil palm plantation here yesterday (Dec 15).
Mukah District Police Chief Deputy Superintendent (DSP) Muhamad Rizal Alias said the victim, a 29-year-old foreign national employed at the plantation, succumbed to severe injuries inflicted by sharp objects to the neck and abdomen.
“The incident was triggered by a misunderstanding. The suspect, known as Aci, a foreign national in his 30s, fled into the plantation area after the incident.
“He is now wanted by the police to assist in the investigation,” he said in a statement today.
The Mukah District Police Headquarters had launched Ops Kesan, deploying the K9 unit and the General Operations Force (PGA) in the search for the suspect.
The case is being investigated under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
