SIBU, June 9: Intended recipients of food baskets in the Nangka constituency will have the convenience of receiving the items at their home through food delivery riders instead of doing self-collection at the distribution centre at Sibu Islamic Welfare Trust Board (Lakis).
According to Nangka assemblyman, Dr Annuar Rapaee, 90 riders will be engaged to send the food aid to the intended recipients.
“The use of food delivery riders is to avoid the recipients having to come to the distribution centre at Lakis to collect the items,” he said.
Dr Annuar revealed there are over 3,000 recipients in his constituency for the food basket worth RM70 each under the Sarawakku Sayang Special Assistance (BKSS) 3.0.
“Our distribution of the food aid is divided into two groups. One group will collect it at Lakis while the other will collect it from the food delivery riders who will go directly to their house,” he added.
However if the recipients are not at their residence when the food delivery riders come, his Parti Pesaka Bumiputera Bersatu (PBB) Nangka branch will call them up to collect at Lakis.
“Our use of food delivery riders is also to provide income to them,” he emphasized.
Dr Annuar added that they expect to complete the distribution exercise by this Friday (June 11).
On the recipients, he said they were based on the BKSS 2.0 list of recipients for similar aid.
However those whose names which are not in the list are advised to contact PBB sub-branches in Bawang Assan, Dudong, Bukit Assek, Nangka and Pelawan. — DayakDaily
