KUCHING, April 15: Sarawak United Peoples’ Party (SUPP) Youth secretary-general Milton Foo is urging Bandar Kuching MP Dr Kelvin Yii to take practical action to set up a new Tanah Puteh clinic.
“Don’t just hope (for it), but act progressively and vigorously to achieve what is supposed to be done for the materialisation of the new Tanah Puteh clinic for the benefit of the mass electorates as well as the medical staff,” said Foo.
He said Yii, as the elected representative for Bandar Kuching, essentially carries the responsibility to ensure the establishment of a new government clinic in Tanah Puteh in the interests of the people.
“It is incumbent on YB Kelvin Yii to fight for the expansion and upgrade of the said clinic such as identifying the new strategic location, collaborating with the Sarawak and Federal governments in getting land, requesting funds from KKM to build the new government clinic and so on,” added Foo.
He was responding to Yii’s latest statement where the latter pledged that he would try his best to help improve the clinic’s existing infrastructure and system.
Addressing the demand for a new clinic, Yii had pointed out that the core issue is the lack of land for proper expansion and upgrades, which is of the same opinion as Foo himself. — DayakDaily
