LIMBANG, Oct 23: The school session at Sekolah Kebangsaan (SK) RC Kubong was cancelled today after the school was inundated by three-foot deep floodwater.
Head of Sarawak State Disaster Management Committee (JPBN) secretariat Major Ismail Mahedin from Sarawak Civil Defence Force disclosed that as at 8am, the water began rising, prompting the district education department to close the school.
A total of 142 students, 11 teachers, and three school staff were affected.
A team from the Civil Defence Department was despatched to assist as well as put on standby mode to monitor the situation.
All the students and school staff are safe and the flood situation is deemed under control.
