Floods: Sarawak fully recovers, last two relief centres closed

KUCHING, March 25: Sarawak has fully recovered from floods following the closure of the last two temporary relief centres (PPS) in the Sibu division on March 24, reports Bernama.

According to the Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC) secretariat, the Sibu Jaya Community Hall PPS, which sheltered 25 evacuees, closed at 1pm.

The Kanowit Sports Complex Hall PPS housed 185 evacuees and closed at 5pm.

Previously, the relief centres at Asrama Belia Kapit and Kapit Civic Centre were closed at 9am, followed by the Selangau Multipurpose Hall at noon. — DayakDaily
