KUCHING, Jan 18: An electrifying flash mob performance by The Band Lab, The Strings Lab, and The Symphony Lab successfully ignited 2024 year with a bang.
Recently held at tHe Spring Mall Kuching (Jan 13), the event which featured 40 talented musicians captivated shoppers and onlookers with musical performances, according to a press statement
The music performed included the “Mission Impossible” theme, “My Favorite Things”, a brass quintet rendition of “Soon May the Wellerman Come,” and a soulful performance of “I Will Always Love You” sung by local vocalist Chien Ng.
The evening performance ended on a high note with a rendition of iconic tunes from “The Greatest Showman” musical drama film.
This flash mob performance was more than just a thrilling musical performance as it was also a celebration of music and an opportunity to engage with the community.
Among others, the flash mob aimed to make headlines and set the tone for a year filled with musical excellence and innovation; and to bring music to the masses through showcasing film music that is universally cherished, and attract individuals who may not have had previous exposure to brass bands and orchestras.
The event also allowed music enthusiasts to explore and appreciate diverse musical genres, and promote membership and participation of individuals interested in joining The Band Lab, The Strings Lab, and The Symphony Lab. — DayakDaily
