Sarawak Deputy Premier and Minister for Infrastructure and Port Development (MIPD) Datuk Amar Douglas Uggah Embas announced the upcoming projects, while highlighting the completion of the Jepak-Bintulu Bridge, which is now open to the public.

At the soft launch of the Jepak-Bintulu Bridge in Bintulu yesterday (March 23), Uggah emphasised that the bridge not only provides safer and quicker access, but also serves as a catalyst for development in areas such as Jepak, Tanjung Kidurong, Samalaju, and Tanjung Batu.

Uggah also reiterated the Sarawak government’s commitment to sustainable infrastructure development.

In line with this, Bintulu is poised for further growth with several planned projects, including a RM117.9 million Bintulu Divisional Government Administration Building and an RM80 million dual carriageway project connecting the Jepak-Bintulu Bridge to the new Bintulu airport.

The event was attended by several notable officials, including Minister in the Premier’s Department, Dato Sri John Sikie Tayai, MIPD deputy ministers Dato Majang Renggi and Datuk Ir Aidel Lariwoo, MIPD permanent secretary Datu Chiew Chee Yau, and local assemblymen. — DayakDaily
