Five foreigners claim trial to drug trafficking

Five accused are being escorted by police officers at Kuching High Court Complex.

KUCHING, Nov 25: Five Indonesians claim trial to trafficking Methamphetamine, which upon conviction, may carry a death sentence.

The five pleaded not guilty to all charges framed.


Bukhairi Napi and Riko Dwi Yanto were charged with trafficking 1350.20 grams of Methamphetamine at JPG Pos Telok Melano, at about 4.30 pm on February 15, 2018.

Napi Sibu and Junaidi Berimang, meanwhile, were charged with trafficking 1400.20 grams of Methamphetamine at JPG Pos Telok Melano, at about 4.35 pm on February 15, 2018.

Karni Bujang was found to be trafficking 772.8 grams of Methamphetamine at JPG Pos Telok Melano, at about 4.40 pm on February 15, 2018.

They were charged under Section 39B(1)(a) of the Dangerous Drugs Act 1952, punishable under Section 39B(2) of the same Act and be read together with Section 34 of the Penal Code, which carries death sentence upon conviction.
