Five anglers net compound notices for violating SOPs

KUCHING, July 1: Five anglers fishing in public and one individual eating at a five-foot way restaurant were among the 41 individuals issued compounds by the Royal Malaysia Police (PDRM) for violating Covid-19 standard operating procedures (SOPs) over a 24-hour period.

The State Disaster Management Committee in a statement today, as of today, a total of 8,563 compounds has been issued by PDRM since March 18, 2020.

Other SOP violations which received compound notices included carrying passengers in one vehicle exceeding the limit (11), failure to practise physical distancing (eight), failure to check in via the MySejahtera application (four), failure to wear facemask (three), operating premises not allowed to operate (three), loitering in public places after 12am (three), dine-in (two), and crossing districts without permit (one).


Meanwhile, the committee said the Local Government and Housing Ministry had also issued a total of eight compounds through its local government authorities (PBT) for SOP violations in five districts throughout the State.

Failure to practise physical distancing saw a total of four compounds issued, followed by failure to update the registration book or incomplete registration (three) and fishing for leisure purpose (one), bringing the total number of compounds issued by PBT since Feb 2021 until today to 1,202 compounds. — DayakDaily.
