Fireman Adib dies, case reclassified as murder

KUCHING, Dec 18: Firefighter Muhammad Adib Mohd Kassim passed away last night at 9.41pm.

Adib, who was a member of the Emergency Response System (EMRS) unit of Subang Jaya Fire and Rescue station, lost the fight for his life after being seriously injured at the Seafield Sri Maha Mariamman Temple in USJ 25 Subang Jaya, Selangor.

Before his passing, he was under intensive care for internal injuries and bone fractures. He was initially reported to be attacked by a mob at the Seafield Temple riot last month.


According to The Star, police have reclassified Adib case from attempted murder to murder.

Selangor deputy police chief Deputy Commissioner Datuk Abdul Rashid Abdul Wahab was quoted as saying that the police would investigate the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code.

Adib’s remains were flown back to his hometown in Kampung Tebengau, Kedah this morning for burial today. — DayakDaily
