MIRI, Aug 21: A team of firefighters from Lutong fire station was deployed to the Pulau Melayu golf course last night to extinguish a bushfire.
According to Miri Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) spokesperson, Awangku Mohd Hazmin Awang Zainal, the firefighters were immediately despatched to the scene in response to a distress call at 9.20pm.
The bushfire damaged about two acres of land.

The firefighters managed to bring the fire under control at 10.48pm and the operation was ended two minutes later. — DayakDaily
