MIRI, March 16: The Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), along with factory workers, successfully extinguished a massive fire that broke out in an oil waste cooling pond at a palm oil mill in Sibuti yesterday.
The blaze, which covered an area of 5,643.15 square metres, did not result in any casualties.

Fire and Rescue Department personnel from the Batu Niah fire station were deployed to the scene after receiving a distress call at 11.01am.
It took the firefighters and factory workers approximately four hours to contain the flames. Workers from the mill initiated early firefighting efforts using 50 fire extinguishers before the fire department arrived.
The operation was successfully concluded at 3.14pm. – DayakDaily
