KUCHING, Aug 22: A 28-year-old Indonesian worker got his hand stuck in a machine at a factory at Jalan Bintulu-Similajau today.
According to a media statement, a spokesman for the operations centre of the Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) Sarawak said that they received a report about the case at 8.35am and mobilised firefighters from the Kidurong station to the scene of the incident.
“The operation’s commander did a size-up at the scene of the incident and instructed personnel to cut the screws and part of the machine to remove the victim’s hand using a grinder.
“Once the victim’s hand was freed, Bomba handed him over to the Health Ministry for further treatment,” said the spokesperson.
The rescue operation ended at 9.14am. — DayakDaily
