KUCHING, Jan 15: Firefighters successfully contained a car caught on fire at a residential parking lot in Petra Jaya, this morning, preventing further damage to the house and the neighbourhood.
According to the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), the fire involved a Proton x50 car at a residential property in Taman Sepawi, Petra Jaya.
A team from the Petra Jaya Fire Station (BBP Petra Jaya) was dispatched to the scene immediately after receiving a call at 2.29 am.
They arrived at the scene at 2.34am and acted quickly by controlling and extinguishing the fire using an auxiliary water supply from the fire truck.
The fire was successfully contained by 2.47am. Overhaul works were carried out until there were no more sources of fire ignition and danger in the location.
The car was 80 per cent burned and the fire affected the door and the ceiling of the house where the car was parked. – DayakDaily
