KUCHING, Dec 9: A 50-metre long oil spill along the road in front of the Kuching Court Complex in Petra Jaya caused a temporary road closure this morning.
Petra Jaya fire station chief PKPgB Azaharul Sahari revealed a team of firefighters rushed to the scene upon receiving the emergency call from a member of the public at 8.49am.
To ensure the safety of other road users, the affected lane was temporarily closed while firefighters cleaned the spill. They also spread sand on the affected area to prevent the surface becoming slippery.
The operation ended without any untoward incidents at 10.45am. The cause of the oil spill has not been ascertained. — DayakDaily
