KUCHING, Jan 29: A fire completely destroyed a single-storey house and damaged a neighbouring house at Taman Seroja, Saratok, this afternoon.
According to a report by the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba), an emergency call was received at 11.57am and firefighters from the Saratok station were deployed.
Upon arrival, firefighters found two single-storey houses on fire – one completely engulfed in flames, while the other sustained five per cent damage to its kitchen rooftop.
The firefighters extinguished the flames on both houses with a 200 feet hose from two nearby fire hydrants.
By 12.30pm, the fire was under control, and the operation concluded after overhaul works were done ensuring no remaining sources of ignition and confirming the area’s safety.
No casualties or injuries were reported. – DayakDaily
