Fire at Jalan Matang poultry farm in Kuching kills over 10,000 chickens

Bomba — The chicken coop at a chicken poultry farm in Jalan Matang was destroyed by a fire on Dec 6, 2024.

KUCHING, Dec 6: A fire at a chicken poultry farm in Jalan Matang resulted in the death of 10,092 chickens.

According to a report from the Sarawak Fire and Rescue Department (Bomba) operations centre today, they received a call regarding the incident a 3.42am and deployed Bomba Petra Jaya assisted by Bomba Batu Lintang to the location.

The operations commander reported that the incident destroyed one block of chicken coop.

Firefighters managed to control the situation at 4.42am. — DayakDaily
