MIRI, July 18: The last suspect in a recent bullying incident here, a video of which has been widely circulated over social media channels this past week, has been apprehended.
The 20 year-old jobless youth was detained in Tenom, Sabah this morning.
Miri police chief ACP Lim Meng Seah confirmed this when contacted today.
He said the suspect was detained after he surrendered himself at Tenom police headquarters today at 9.15am.
“A Miri Criminal Investigation Department (CID) team has been deployed this afternoon to ‘collect’ the suspect and bring him down here (to Miri) to assist our probe into the case,” said Lim.
The suspect, is the last to be apprehended by the police in connection with the bullying case.
Four others suspects were detained earlier, including one who is a student of a secondary school in Miri.
In the bullying case which said to have been occurred on July 8, five youths were shown kicking and punching a 13-year-old boy repeatedly in a vacant building in Miri.
The case is being investigated under Section 147 of the Penal Code for rioting. ā DayakDaily
