KUCHING, Jan 4: The display and competition surrounding the Christmas Tree decorations in Dalat have successfully come to an end, marking the start of the New Year.
Sarawak Women, Childhood and Community Wellbeing Development Minister Datuk Seri Fatimah Abdullah expressed her delight and pride over the beautiful decorations which showcased the uniqueness of each participant.
She also presented the prize to JKKK Kampung Seberang Dalat, who won the Christmas Tree Decoration Competition held at Dalat Waterfront on Saturday night (Jan 1).
The second and third places were won by JKKK Kampung Baru Dalat and JKKK Kampung Medong Seberang respectively, while JKKK Kampung Medong Hulu finished with a consolation prize.
The competition was jointly organised by Sarawak National Youth Organisation (Saberkas) Dalat branch and Dalat Constituency Service Centre.
Additionally, Fatimah who is also Dalat assemblywoman, applauded the Christmas Tree Decoration display at Kampung Tanam which was able to attract some 2,000 visitors.
“The display led by Cikgu Daniel instills the spirit of togetherness, because when one Christmas tree decoration is done, the team will help the other teams to complete their decorations,” she said in a video message circulated in a WhatsApp group earlier today. — DayakDaily
