Kuching logs 10 new Covid-19 cases out of 24 cases in Sarawak

KUCHING, Jan 4: Kuching logged 10 new Covid-19 infections out of 24 cases confirmed in Sarawak today.

With no Covid-19 fatalities reported, this pushed the overall State Covid-19 tally so far to 252,377, while the death toll is maintained at 1,617.

Sarawak Disaster Management Committee (SDMC), in its daily updates on the Covid-19 situation in Sarawak, reported that of the new cases, two patients are under Category 3 with pneumonia.


There are 13 cases under Category 1 without symptoms and nine cases under Category 2 with mild symptoms.

Apart from Kuching, six other districts also reported cases, namely Sibu with four cases followed by Miri and Bintulu (3 cases each), Lawas (2 cases), while Betong and Marudi have one case each.

Currently, there are no active clusters in Sarawak.

Meanwhile, the police had issued 15 compounds in Kuching in the past 24 hours.

All compounds were issued for failure to scan the QR Code via MySejahtera or recording attendance prior to entering a premises. — DayakDaily
