Fatal three-vehicle collision on Jalan Miri-Pujut claims life of 75yo motorcyclist

MIRI, July 31: A three-vehicle collision early this morning near the Bintang Mall traffic light on Jalan Miri-Pujut resulted in the death of a motorcyclist and minor injuries to two other motorists.

Miri Police Chief ACP Alexson Naga Chabu reported that the police received a call about the incident at 6.05am.

The fatal collision involved a Honda City driven by a 43-year-old woman, a Perodua Myvi driven by a 62-year-old man, and a Yamaha Ego motorcycle ridden by a 75-year-old man.

According to initial investigations, the Honda City swerved out of control into the opposite lane, colliding with the oncoming motorcycle and the Perodua Myvi.

The motorcyclist died at the scene, while the drivers of the Honda City and Perodua Myvi sustained minor injuries.

The police have opened an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act 1987. — DayakDaily
